| Medical Pharmacy was started in 1958 as a small town, intimate pharmacy. In 1985, the pharmacy was purchased by its current owner, Jim Wojnar. From its humble beginnings 50 years ago, Medical Pharmacy has grown to become one of Eastern Connecticut’s most recognized pharmacies. We now offer the broadest selection of pharmacy services and home medical equipment in our market, making us Eastern Connecticut’s most complete pharmacy and home medical equipment provider. This year is a special year for us, as it marks our 50th anniversary. Over the last 50 years, we have seen many changes. However, the one thing that has never changed at Medical Pharmacy is our commitment to providing quality service. It remains the cornerstone of our mission and we measure it continuously to ensure we are living up to our commitment. The family-owned structure of our business allows us to be flexible and responsive to customer needs, as we are not held captive by a large bureaucracy or public shareholders. We leverage this advantage whenever necessary to ensure that our customers receive the right equipment and service for their unique needs. In addition to being a full service pharmacy, Medical Pharmacy is uniquely able to provide true one-stop-shopping for most medical needs at home. From mobility products like walkers, crutches, canes and wheelchairs to respiratory services like nebulizers and their medications, home oxygen equipment, and CPAP machines; all traditional home medical equipment needs can be met through our store. We complement our durable medical equipment with an assortment of aids to daily living, including grab bars, shower chairs, raised toilet seats, transport benches, commodes and more! Our staff is trained to fit patients for compression stockings and mastectomy bras, and we offer a wide selection of ostomy supplies. If we don’t have what you are looking for, we can order most anything you need to ensure a comfortable convalescence at home. THE FAMILY TRADITION CONTINUES… In 2004, Jim’s oldest son, Jason, joined Medical Pharmacy as a Respiratory Therapist and is currently overseeing the home medical equipment side of the business. In 2005, Jim’s youngest son, Chad, joined the business as a Pharmacist. Together, they represent a comprehensive base of knowledge and experience that will serve the business for decades to come. When Jim decides to retire, he will pass ownership of the business to both Chad and Jason, ensuring that the business stays family owned, but with a new generation of energy and leadership. Chad and Jason share Jim’s mission and passion for service, meaning that our customers and patients can have confidence that Medical Pharmacy will remain Eastern Connecticut’s most complete pharmacy and home medical equipment provider for decades to come. |
